Smiths Falls

Smiths Falls is a town of approximately 9,000 residents located in Eastern Ontario. The Rideau Canal passes through the town which is host to recreational boating in the area. Smiths Falls is a major railway junction point, with its station receiving regular Via Rail service to Ottawa and Toronto. Smiths Falls’ progress towards a Complete Streets transformation has been highlighted in a blog post.

By-laws & Council Resolutions | 2019

On January 21, 2019, Smiths Falls’ City council approved the Complete Street Design for Beckwith Street Redevelopment including the removal of angled parking and installation of a cycle track and wider sidewalks. TCAT provided a letter of support to and wrote a blog post about the Council decision.
