Kamloops

Kamloops is a midsized city in south-central British Columbia.

Land Use Plan | 2018

Adopted in 2018, Kamloops’ Official Community Plan (OCP) recommends the adoption of a Complete Streets approach for the city (p. D-16). Like Vancouver’s Transportation 2040 plan, the OCP establishes a modal hierarchy with walking at the top, followed by cycling and transit (p. D-17). The plan aims to integrate transportation and land use to create connected Complete Streets streetscapes (p. D-16).

Transportation Plan | 2018

In 2018, Kamloops’ released their Transportation Master Plan which indicates their commitment to implementing Complete Streets across the city. The document pledges that Kamloops will maintain or increase their investment in cycling, pedestrian, and transit infrastructure, and continue the promotion of sustainable transportation choices for the foreseeable future.
